Disney Daze


When you're in your mid-thirties and one of your besties wants to go to Disney for her birthday, you go. You just do it.  You don't question it, you just go.

You get a girl's weekend out of the gig, and you love it so much that you refer to your hotel room as "Home Suite Home" and sometimes, just sometimes, the "Sweet Suite" rolls off your tongue.

Your big workouts for the weekend are the marathon walking that take place (a natural side effect of a day at Disneyland) and the killer abs you develop from laughing so much (a natural side effect from having hilarious friends).  


So maybe you start out at the Fitness Center in the hotel before your counterparts arrive, and it's possible that you wake up early to squeeze in some PiYo before heading over to the park, but those aren't your BIG workouts for the weekend.


When the weekend comes to an end, you replay some of your favorite moments in your head, and you come home happy and rejuvenated.  So, again I say, when you're in your mid-thirties and one of your besties wants to go to Disney for her birthday, you go. You just do it.  You don't question it, you just go.

Feta-Zucchini Boats



Another one of my fave clean(ish) meals!  Just a few ingredients, and it takes under 10 minutes from beginning to end!

What you'll need:

  • Zucchini
  • Feta
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)
What you'll do:

  1. Preheat your broiler to high (mine is set to 525*)
  2. Put a pot of water on to boil
  3. Cut your zucchini in half lengthwise
  4. Scoop out the seeds
  5. Throw in the pot to blanche the zucchini for about a minute
     
     6. Remove zucchini from water and dry off with a paper towel
     7. Scoop a generous amount of feta into the "boat"
     8.  Place in broiler for a few minutes, until the feta begins to brown
     9.  Remove boats from broiler.  VOILA!



Feel free to add Pink Himalayan Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper to taste!

Sweat for Rain



Make it rain with sweat . . .  your sweat to be exact!  What the heck does that even mean?  You can help get clean water to the Navajo Nation during this horrendous drought by paying with your blood, sweat, and tears.  Well maybe not your blood, but definitely your sweat, and only maybe some tears.

Let me give you some deets:  According to Carl Daikeler, Beachbody CEO, "lack of water has driven a collapse in the Navajo Nation economy and created a catastrophic epidemic of obesity and diabetes.  Access to clean water can actually change all that!"  You can raise $50 towards the $100,000 goal to a special RainCatcher fundraiser without even opening your wallet!

$50 will be donated for each person who logs into Beachbody on Demand and completes the PiYo Sweat workout sometime this Saturday, April 25th.

Oodles of Zoodles!


I've never been a noodle fan, but boy oh boy am I a zoodle fan!  Whether you have a Vegetti, a Chic Chef (like mine), or just your run-of-the-mill julienne press, you should be in love with zoodling too!  

I tossed mine with a drizzle of EVOO, a sprinkle of Himalayan Salt, and 6 pressed cloves of garlic (Vampires beware).  Threw them into a frying pan for a few minutes, and then added some premade chicken meatballs from Costco.


Why are you still sitting there?  Go get your zoodles!

Snickers Shakeo

For the diva in all of us . . .

What you'll need:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 tbsp slivered almonds
  • small handful chopped walnuts
  • 2 tbsp PB2
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Scoop Chocolate (or Vegan Choc) Shakeology
  • Ice ice baby
Blend and enjoy!

That Time I Was on TV . . . but not really

I had the very fortunate pleasure of joining my dear friend, Kevin Zelman, on the set of The Morning Brew to discuss the launch of Beachbody on Demand (BOD) back in March.*

ShakeOrange Julius

What you'll need:
• 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeo
• 1 1/2 cups water
• 1/2 frozen banana
• 1 small orange
• ice ice baby

You know the drill . . . Blend and enjoy!

Life Hack - Tomato Cutting

I can't possibly be the only one who gets bored/distracted in the middle of preparing a meal, right?  I mean how long can it actually take to peel potatoes?!?  Am I right?  So, I'm always on the lookout for some time saver life hacks.  When I stumbled upon this cherry (or grape) tomato slicing hack, I was shocked, impressed, awed, and stupified.  It's just so dang simple and obvious!


What you'll need:
  • Tomatoes of the cherry or grape variety
  • 2 plates
  • 1 knife

Here's the trick:
  1. Place tomatoes on plate.
  2. Place other plate on top of tomatoes.
  3. Slice the tomatoes while gently holding the top plate.

No joke, it's that easy. 





The downside to making these discoveries, however, is that my OCD brain almost immediately tries to calculate how much time I've actually wasted before turning to a life of hackery . . . ahhhh well, onward and upward right?  

ExerCIZE with Shaun T

Who doesn't love Shaun T?  Whether your Hip Hopping your Abs away or Maxing Out with Insanity, you are having a blast while working out with Shaun T.  Beachbody just announced that our Summer is about to become a bajillion times more exciting when Shaun T's newest project hits the streets Step Up style (you know you secretly love the movie, nobody is fooled by your scoff).  I, for one, am STOKED about the prospect of getting more dance time with my man Shaun.  I just hope that Shaun B and Sean V will make some cameo appearances in this one (you know if you know).

Snickerdoodle Shakeology

If you have a Snickerdoodle Sweet Tooth, then you'll definitely want to give this mix some serious facetime!

What you'll need:
  • 1 cup Almond Milk

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 tbsp PB2
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
